Brother Scott Thomas is an old-fashioned, independant Baptist evangelist from Temple, GA. He and his wife, Tessa, are members of Central Baptist Church, Carrollton, GA pastored by Brother Doug Bearden. Scott and Tessa have been married since 1996, and they have two children: Aaron and Cameron.
Brother Scott was saved at age eight in an old-fashioned revival at Maple Grove Baptist Church in Morganton, GA. He announced his calling to preach in 1986 at the age of eighteen. His ministry has included a nine year radio broadcast, pastor of two churches, singing with a professional Southern Gospel group, and full-time evangelist. Brother Scott also has his Doctors degree in Ministry, from the fully accredited Emmanuel Baptist College in Connelly Springs, NC.
Sister Tessa was saved at age nine, and she grew up with a strong foundation. Her grandfather was her pastor, her dad was the choir leader, her mother played the piano, and her sister played the organ. Her brother, brother-in-law, and uncle pastor conservative fundamental churches. Tessa has been a strong asset to this ministry. She is the singing voice of the two that touches the hearts of many people. Brother Scott relies on Tessa not only for her ability to sing, but for her ability play the piano and sing for the invitation. She seems to always know the perfect song selection for the invitation. Tessa is and has been the mother, educator in home-schooling, a pastor's wife, and prayer warrior.
Scott and Tessa Thomas started singing with Ricky Atkinson in April 2007. The group Ricky Atkinson & Compassion is a professional southern gospel group who tours across the United States to sing in concerts, revivals and campmeetings.
Scott adds, "It's the best of all three worlds. I get to sing with my wife in a professional gospel group. I get to take my family with me everywhere I go. And I also get to continue pursuing my own ministry of preaching and singing with my wife in church. I'm living the dream, and I could not ask for anymore!"
