Satisfaction Guaranteed
Psalms 107: 8-9
8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
INTRODUCTION:
1. The book of Psalms is divided into five sections and each one presents God in a particular aspect. This chapter marks the beginning of the fifth division.
2. Men are seeking various ways and means to satisfy themselves today. Some force their bodies to unusual and strange things. The reason that they do this is because of their lack of spiritual contentment and satisfaction. We are living in a day of excess. The thought of the day is bigger bodies, bigger buildings, and bigger budgets. All of this is an attempt to satisfy the longing in their hearts.
3. The world can stimulate and excite, but it cannot give rest.
4. Many companies make the promise that if you buy their product or service, your satisfaction will be guaranteed.
5. However, before considering my subject, I want you to see some things that guarantees satisfaction but only temporarily.
A. The World Only Satisfies Temporarily
*Peace in the World – Temporary Satisfaction
*Positions in the World – Temporary Satisfaction
*Presence in the World – Temporary Satisfaction
B. The Worldliness Only Satisfies Temporarily
C. The Wickedness Only Satisfies Temporarily
(The Charm, the Cheer, the Contentment is temporary.)
ILLUSTRATION: Riding with the world, worldliness, and wickedness is like riding a roller coaster. The first incline is scary, and there after there is a thrill as you go up and down the ride and flip and turn. After the ride is over you want to do it again and again. The fears go away. However, if you were to ride that coaster 5 times a day every day, pretty soon the thrill is not only gone, but you are bored with it. You soon realize that you are just not satisfied with that thrill anymore. You say that’s not possible, but it is. The amusement parks tear down rides and build new ones year after year because people have grown tired and unsatisfied with certain rides. Some rides have even been known to hurt people, and some people have been killed because of these rides.
Just like the amusement park ride, after awhile, the world, the worldliness, and the wickedness no longer offers a thrill. Some get hurt. Some get killed. Some ride once, and they never want to ride again. It cannot guarantee satisfaction!
**Oh but here is the good news! Jesus Christ offers some things where Satisfaction is Guaranteed!
**Everything Jesus has ever offered me He said, “Satisfaction Guaranteed!” I have found it to be oh so true!
BODY – SATISFACTION GUARANTEED
I. CONCERNING HIS BOOK
** The Bible is not merely a book. It is THE BOOK. This is the book of Jesus Christ. Infidels deny it. Scoffers mock it, but real Spirit-filled Christians are satisfied with it.
A. HIS BOOK GIVES LIFE
I Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1. It Gives A Life That’s New (Being Born Again)
2. It Gives A Life That’s Notable
(not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible)
3. It Gives A Life That’s Needed
(which liveth and abideth for ever.)
** We are begotten by the Word that gives us life.
B. HIS BOOK GIVES LIGHT
Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
**It lights up His Way, His Will, His Wonders, His Work, His Wants, and His Words!
C. HIS BOOK GIVES LOVE
1. It’s Divine Love
I John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
2. It’s Definite Love
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, . . . . . full of grace and truth.
3. It’s Durable Love
Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
**His love through that blessed old book has stood The Test of Time, The Test of Trials, and The Test of Troubles!
**Satisfaction is still guaranteed concerning His book!!
II. CONCERNING HIS BLOOD
** The blood is a scarlet thread that is woven throughout the entire Word of God. Early in sacred writings God revealed that life was in the blood.
**There’s still life in His blood.
**In His Blood, There’s Satisfaction Because You’ll Find:
A. HIS PEACE
Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
1. This Peace Cleanses
(It Cleanses the Goo, the Guilt, and the Gunk of Sin.)
(Satisfaction is Guaranteed!)
2. This Peace Controls
(It’s peace that controls the heart and the head!)
B. HIS PEOPLE
Ephesians 2:12-13
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
1. Saved People 2. Sanctified People
3. Spirit-filled People 4. Satisfied People
C. HIS PURITY
I John 1:7 . . . and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
**His Purifying Blood Satisfied My Sinful Soul!
D. HIS PRESENCE
Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
**I’m satisfied that because of His blood I can get in His presence!!
E. HIS POWER
Rev 12:10-11
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; . . .
**Satisfaction is still guaranteed concerning His blood!!
III. CONCERNING HIS BLESSINGS
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
** The apostle begins with blessings and three times in one verse, he uses the same word.
Satisfaction is Guaranteed when it comes to our . . .
A. EARTHLY BLESSINGS
1. Family of God Blessings
2. Faithfulness of God Blessings
3. Fruits of God’s Blessings
B. EXTRAORDINARY BLESSINGS
1. The Salvation Blessings 2. The Spirit’s Blessings
3. The Savior’s Blessings
C. ETERNAL BLESSINGS
1. Heaven’s Blessings
2. Holiness Blessings
3. Happiness Blessings
4. Home Blessings
**Satisfaction is still guaranteed concerning His blessings!

1. Not everybody is satisfied with the Lord’s book, the Lord’s blood, or the Lord’s blessings.
2. “But preacher, you said satisfaction is guaranteed.”
3. I did, but look at our text.

4. Satisfaction is guaranteed concerning the Lord’s book, the Lord’s blood, and the Lord’s blessings only if you have a longing and hungry soul!
Illustration: I’ve wondered and you have too why people do not come to the Lord and get saved and get right like they used to. Why? Because it is hard to be a longing and hungry soul as long as you are filled up and miserable with junk food!! I can’t make my kids eat if they’re not hungry and longing for food. But when they are hungry and longing for food, you can’t stop them from eating!! It’s only when you’re empty and hungry for something fulfilling and you’re longing for some real food and something really good that you can come to the Master’s table and get satisfied! Most people have bought into the lie that there’s no satisfaction at the Lord’s table. So when people get hungry and longing they go back to filling up on the sinful junk food of the world!!
5. Oh but we who have tasted of the Lord knows his goodness! We know Satisfaction is Guaranteed!!
**Are you hungry and longing for satisfaction in your life? Come now and taste of the Lord for He is good and Satisfaction is guaranteed!!
