Ezra's Example for a New Year
(A New Year’s Message)
Ezra 7:9-10
9 For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him. 10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
INTRO:
God Wants Us To Be . . .

Psalms 51:10-11 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
We must ask God for the Holy Spirit . . .
1. Before the Sunday School begins.
2. Before the Service begins.
3. Before the Singing begins.
4. Before the Sermon begins.
**Ezra prepared his heart before he saw God move!

2. Be Steady in Church!
(Concerning Time, Tithes, and Testimony!)

**Too many people get overwhelmed by the steps or overjoyed by the success of the journey, but then they do not finish what God wanted them to do once they’re there!
**Like Ezra, we must finish what God wants us to do for Him!
A. Ezra Proclaimed the Commands
